TOPIC: Switching to desktop/mobile version problem

Switching to desktop/mobile version problem 12 years ago #12553

Hi all,
thanks for developing such a great component.
I have a problem with following: I put a markup chooser, so the mobile viewers can switch to desktop version. When they click desktop version once, every other time they load the site, they are being redirected to desktop version automatically. I believe this may be some caching problem, so I disabled all caching joomla plugins and caching options in joomla mobile. Can anyone help me with this,
thanks
Branko

Selected mode is saved in cookies. To change mode back to mobile you can do one of:
1. Publish Markup Chooser in one of position of desktop template (there is a special instance of this module that is published in "footer" position by default).
2. Clear cookies.
3. Visit yoursite.com/?device=xhtml to switch to smartphone mode or yoursite.com/?device=iphone to switch to iphone mode.
4. In MJ 1.2.1 it will be possible to use yoursite.com/?device=auto to remove mobile mode cookie.

I added the link suggested above (yoursite.com/?device=auto) to the Main Menu (desktop menu) and named it "Mobile Site", to make it possible for users to switch back to mobile mode.
