Why would the iphone-esque bars not work?

Looks this way on iphone as well.Screenshots using safari developer user agent tool.

Dryabov,

Our Server Admin said that's the exact reason. Because we are on a university system, we are on super-tight security, and the htaccess in root is dominant, and overrides any other htaccess.. What would be the best way to fix this issue?

Just remove templates/mobile_iphone/jqtouch-src/.htaccess

BUT: the javascript stuff does not work now anymore on the mobile version! I use SIGE - Simple Image Gallery Extended, and when I remove the .htaccess, the popus do not work anymore. As soon as I activate the .htaccess file again, the popups work fine, but the menu items look bad

It means there is a conflict of css styles of jQTouch framework (it's the base for mobile_iphone template) and SIGE.

Thanks, dryabov. I quickly tried with another (similar) gallery, and it seems that this is is really the problem. Have you any tips on how I can find out what exactly causes the conflict? which elements?
