upgrading to Mobile Joomla! 1.0 RC3

I tried to upgrade from 0.9.2 to Mobile Joomla! 1.0 RC3 but first I got an error and the recommendation to install it manually as our server is not supporting remote install. So tried to do it manually and now got an error 500. Any ideas what to do?

Read you server's error_log for more info about error.
Try to install by "Install from directory" method.
