Mobile GPS Location Sensing

Determine GPS coordinates from the iPhone or other mobile device and make it available to render Google Maps from it. End result is to plot directions and/or provide real time location data to a location based application.

This is doable with HTML5 technologies, though Google Maps over HTML is very slow on the mobile and user experience is not good.
