Database table duplication issue or not?

(I have read the FAQs and searched the forum and read the READ THIS FIRST. I have a reseller Rochen Hosting account. Everything is in testing right now and appears to be working fine. Using M 0.9.8 and will update to 0.9.9 when I am sure this is ok.)

I am not sure if this is correct or if something has gone awry. In my database, it looks like I have 2 tables for each terawurfll, differing by caps. For example, I have:

jos_TeraWurfl_Android
&
jos_terawurfl_android

Is this as it should be?

There should be jos_TeraWurfl_Android only. You are not the first who meet with "lowercasing" problem. I don't know actual reason of this issue, but it may arise on some hostings after restoring the site from backup made by "lowercasing" utility (but it's an assumption only).

The time stamps are roughly 30 minutes apart, the lowercase following the upper-lower case. Some tables have more records than others, for example: upper-lower android has 240 while lowercase android has 228.

Now, on my WAMP I only have lowercase, no upper-lower case. Curious.

This is with a fresh 0.9.8 install on both.

On Windows it's not a problem to mix lower/uppercase letter in table names (any variant should work), but on *nix tablename should be exactly "jos_TeraWurfl_...".

Update - this is indeed a Windows or WAMP issue.

Fix:

add this line

lower_case_table_names=2

to your my.ini file and restart wamp

you cannot remove this tho or it will stop working
