I'm not sure if this is an RSFirewall issue (as the software moves potentially dangerous files to more protective locations and changes settings), but I'm getting the following error codes when trying to install your extension:

Unable to find install package

I have confirmed when installing that all directories listed in your installation instructions were set to 0777 for full access.

I have also confirmed that all packages required on the server are in fact at or are higher versions than those minimum requirements listed via my hosting facility (which is Bluehost).

Can you help me with this error code or do you have any recommendations on what to do next?

I have a joomlatmp OUTSIDE of my public_html in my root directory of the webserver (/joomlatmp) and I have a tmp directory inside my public_html (public_html/tmp) but no public_html/joomlatmp

The /joomlatmp is set to 0755

As an update to the above, I've tried the same thing but setting /joomlatmp to 0777 and am getting the same error. I believe rsfirewall moved the default joomlatmp directory outside of the public_html directory as a security precaution. Is there anyway to amend the install to get this to work if the joomlatmp directory is outside of the public_html directory?

if not, please let me know if it is possible for me to temporarily create a new joomlatmp directory in the correct position where your install is trying to reach so that I can get the install to take. I'm not that familiar with what the default location should be and it would help a lot if you could direct me if this is the easiest way around it.

I have the same exact problem. I checked the paths and the needed folders are there, with 755 permissions.



These folders exist with 755 permissions:
/home1/CLIENT/public_html/libraries/joomla/filesystem/
/home1/CLIENT/public_html/tmp/

I have RSFirewall installed.
I just uninstalled RSFirewall and the installation was fine. FYI! I'll let the RSFirewall developers know.

I am confident that RS Joomla has changed the location or setting of the joomla tmp file, and mobile joomla is trying to write to a directory that does not exist b/c either RS Firewall moved it or RS Firewall changed the write setting.

I gave the forum admin the location of my joomlatmp directory and the current write setting to determine whether a) I need to at least temporarily change the location of the joomlatmp directory and/or b) whether the write status needs to change as well.

Hopefully, the admin will get back to this string with a solution as I'm eager to try out his extension. With Joomla filled with so many opportunities for malware attacks, RS Firewall should be a must-have in every Joomla site. Finding a solution to install this with existing sites having RS Firewall installed I am sure will help with many other customers of Mobile Joomla to come.

I am very interested in being able to use both Mobile Joomla and RSFirewall, so I look forward to a solution. I submitted a ticket to RSFirewall. Did you?

Not yet, but I will tonight. I think what we need to do is to find out how to temporarily get the joomlatmp directory back to default joomla where it was pre-RSFirewall, and make sure the write setting for the directory is the same as default Joomla pre-RSFirewall. That is what I'm going to ask. Per the mobile joomla admin's last post here in this string it seems to be an error code relating to mobile joomla trying to write to a directory that either doesn't exist or is not writable.

Mobile Joomla admin - would be great to get some clarification here so we ensure we're climbing up the write mountain here.

Well, another issue came about. After uninstalling RSFIrewall and installing Mobile Joomla I checked the site on my iphone last night and it looked pretty good. So I went skiing all day today, not realizing that the WHOLE WEBSITE disappeared. Of course my client DID notice this little detail. (Fortunately they were totally mellow about it.) The home page was replaced with an error message like: INCORRECT INSTALL OF MOBILE JOOMLA. I got the message when I got home and uninstalled Mobile Joomla and reinstalled RSFirewall. The site is okay again. I'll submit this info to RSFirewall.

was that what rsfirewall suggested you do? There has to be a simpler way of fixing it than that - would be nice if the admin to mobile joomla could jump in with a suggestion...

I had heard that mobile sites can cause issues with the joomla cache. I'm not sure if that issue is resolved with mobile joomla (as I haven't been able to get it to install)

I haven't had any feedback from RSFirewall. It's the weekend, so I won't hear back til Monday and I don't expect Mobile Joomla to jump in til then either. I'll let you know what RSFirewall says.
