Our JUG had a presentation on Mobile Joomla yesterday, so I thought I'd install it and try it out. I only have an iPod2 for mobile testing, not a PDA or a smart phone at the present time.

The website is quite simple with 5 pages (excluding the site map).

All 5 pages of the Main Menu appear on the iPod menu (including the home page and the other 4 informational pages) when I enter the website URL on my iPod2. Clicking on the 4 pages that are not the home page brings up each page and it looks good. It's formatted cleanly and easily read.

HOWEVER, the home page doesn't seem to work at all. If you click on it, it stays on the menu. I can see that it's loading a new URL but it's the main menu.

Construction: The Joomla site is 1.5.23. 4 of the 5 pages (including the home page) are category blog menus. I tried changing the home page to a home-blog and that didn't change anything. It still just stays on the main menu. In the configuration tab for the iPhone, I have it pointing specifically to the home page, called 'Who We Are . . '.

I looked in the documentation and believe I have all the parameters set up properly but it still doesn't display the content of the home page even though the title of it shows up in the main menu.

Help, please!!

Could you check a setting please?
Components > Mobile Joomla > Settings

down on the left side
Component on home page
This should be set to yes

I have another question, please. When I scroll to the bottom and click on the link that says "Standard Version" (as opposed to the "Mobile Version" which is being used), I get a 404 screen. I tried that on all the pages. Again, I looked for documentation but couldn't find it. Is there some setting I'm missing there too?

Sorry, I do not know the answer to that one.
I would search the forum for 404 or standard. The topic keeps coming up.

Has someone else had any other experience with this? This would seem like something that should be working.

What would the correct value be? The documentation on the site doesn't come close to matching the current version and now it's all hosed up. I'm not a rookie but the options are not easy to understand. Now my site won't go mobile anymore, so I've obviously done something wrong but I don't have 2 days to figure it out. Great idea. DesktopURL is filled automatically on MJ install, and initially it was hidden parameter. But some users started to move MJ config from one host to other, and incorrect DesktopURL parameter lead to issues in this case. That's why we make it editable, but its format should be exactly http :// your-domain.com / path-to-joomla / (with http in the front and trailing slash at the end).
I don't know other way to get 404 except of incorrect DesktopURL value.

Now I have a different issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled Mobile Joomla and it doesn't work period. It won't give me the mobile version, just the standard one.

I'm getting frustrated. I've taken the tutorial. I've read the documentation. It should be easier than this. I have multiple Joomla websites I'd like to enable but maybe another day.
