Today I logged in to our site and saw that mobile joomla was requesting un update. So I clicked it but it failed to update now stating that our server did not support remote updates??? It worked before, now not. So, I removed the application manually and did a manual install with the latest version and nothing is right, it gave out install errors and sql errors. We are using joomla 1.5.23 the latest joomla 1.5 version. So now, nothing of mobile joomla works and all the work we setup with the template is gone too.

Any ideas whats going on???

It may be that you have disabled allow_url_fopen setting in php.ini. What was the text below this message?

Do you mean that you uninstall MobileJoomla extensions and then install it again? In this case there should be no conflicts, because of MobileJoomla removes all the files and db tables on uninstall (the only known exception is rescaled images that are not removed automatically).

Well if your telling me it uninstalls all tables, then my php must be on drugs of something as there are a wad of db tables left over as stated. Our php has not changed and other apps are updating fine, so something is wacked out with this app install. At the moment there are left over files and db entries and when I try to reinstall the latest version it fails to write db tables or files because of left over crap. As stated, we had the version we had installed flagged us to update, it failed. We removed it via the uninstaller and when trying ti reinstall it fails.

Well, as for error messages none are showing now when trying to reinstall other then giving us a blank page. I then log out and relog in and now it shows the m app as installed and flagging us it needs an update when I've just installed the latest update. When we try to auto update it gives this error: Our server does not support remote updates??? All other apps work for updating and the allow fopen url is on.

When we try to uninstall it throws us this message

Installer::install: Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
If this Extension has created tables or installed additional files, they must be removed manually.

If we log out and try to log back in we can not log back in as it now states this;
Fatal error: Class 'HTML_MobileJoomla' not found in /home/nveinsti/public_html/administrator/modules/mod_mj_adminicon/mod_mj_adminicon.php on line 27

I have to remove the mod directory manually under administration in order to log back in. Also there are multiple entires in the db tables of which I have no idea as to what I can remove without crashing the whole site.

Do you have access to error_log file? It looks like MJ wasn't correctly installed because of certain timeout (that's why you got a blank screen), but more info should be in error_log.

First of all, try to install via "Install from directory" method (it's explained in our Docs->FAQ and in several posts on the forum). This way takes less time to install because of install package is unpacked.

Got it to install after a nerve wracking cleanup!
I had to search everything related to mj (both directory and db) and remaove all manually. I then uploaded the install file after conversion to zip format and then ran the install of which all looks clean. Now the rework begins and have to redo the templates...ick
