Have I missed it, or do we not yet have a nice simple guide to setting up and configuring things?

Uploading and installing was easy enough, and sure enough my Nexus S loads a mobile site rather than the full Joomla site.  That's all good.

However the menu items I've defined for our site don't appear on the mobile page.  Instead all that I see is:

Articles
Weblinks
Contacts

None of which are actually used.

I'm guessing I've missed some obvious setting, but as is usual with Joomla, I'm lost in the dozen places where different settings might be hidden.  I've looked under:

Site | Control Panel | Joomla Mobile
Components | Mobile Joomla | Settings
Extensions | Module Manager | (set to display only the pages we use)
Extensions | Plug-in Manager |
Extensions | Template Manager | (set to display only the pages we use)

Still no luck.

Wow - seems this site also lost my login info and I had to create it all over again. Same e-mail, username, and password...

Anyhow, two days off and on was my limit. I did go through most what's found under the "Docs" tab here, but honestly it's far too sketchy and seems to miss a lot of essential information.

So I've removed the plug in and will look elsewhere.

Most likely it is items from mainmenu menu that is unused on your site (but mod_mj_menu modules use it as default value). So, just set your actual menu in mod_mj_menu ("Mobile Menu") modules.

Yes, our database was corrupted and we did a lot of efforts to merge current (corrupted) snapshot with latest correct backup.
