Hi,  Pride is not a virtue, so I am paying for it now!  I have been all proud of myself for learning Joomla, learning to modify code, and getting Google Maps V3 to work so nicely on my desktop.   I have tried to get Mobile Joomla to work for me, but need some serious help.  If anyone would be willing to look at my site and give me some direction, I would greatly appreciate it.

www.freeridestash.com (I know I need a lot more content, so please do not judge the site.  I am just trying to get the structure setup now.)

I have MJ set to redirect iPhone and pda to respective subdomain.  ScorpiousDelectus recommended that I use the iPhone template instead of the pda template for my pda devices.  Not sure why, but he was right.  The menus look and function better.  However, the pages still do not load right.

Work with Europe>Italy>South Tyrol>Ridanna since I have those menu items complete.  (I am not doing more menu work completed until I have this mobile issue resolved).  In the iPhone tester, the maps menu items loads for Europe, but too big.  Italy can be called on the menu below the map.  The Italy map does not load despite the page having all of the same settings.  Scrolling down reveals part of the next submenu.  Clicking South Tirol (a "Category list" instead of "List all categrories") opens a page of nothing.  On the desktop, my articles are listed, but not on the mobile device.  If I type in the URL for the article directly, it appears.

The pda/Android interface is far worse.

Maybe I should bail on MJ and try to make a mobile friendly design for the primary site.  However, I really like the desktop design.  I have a lot of information would needs to be presented in a less aesthetic format for easy mobile use.  Essentially, it seems to me that my desktop/laptop and mobile needs are quite different; cannot be answered with one site.  Am I wrong here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Maybe this is not even something I can do on my own.

First of all, don't use iphone tester, because of it's just an iframe in your browser, so you are really test the site in YOUR browser that is nonsense.

As to your site, it looks like you have modified mobile_iphone template. Note that the template is based on jQTouch framework, and all the page content should be inside <div id="home" class="current"> block.

OK, now we are making the first sign of progress with Google Maps on Android. I do not have an iPhone, so maybe I was just misled that it worked on the iPhone without the template module being designated. I am trying to track down an iPhone now to try it out for real.

Your responsiveness is awesome!

Next problem. The weblinks on my kml work if they are not to my own site. The problems is that 98% of the links come back to my own site. They go to a specific article with embedded video content. It works flawlessly on the desktop. However, the links get kicked back to the pda subdomain homepage when using the android. I type in the address for the article and the same thing happens. It appears as though anyone trying to reach anything on the site other than the home page is redirected to the home page. This will in now way work for my site as I have hundreds of internal links. Solution?

I have the weblink pointing to my page. Do you mean this should be pointing to subdomain? I see that this issue has been addressed before. You stated there that this would be fixed in version 0.9.13. You then gave some code to patch in. Please see "redirects to mobile Homepage" #387.

Yes, this issue was fixed and it seems to me that your site correctly redirects mobile users to subdomain with keeping other parts of url.

I am only testing on my Android device. The link to my article redirects directly back to the homepage. The URL is for the homepage and it shows the homepage. Even if I type in the complete URL for the article without subdomain (just like the link) it goes to the mobile homepage.

www.freeridestash.com/north-america/usa/colorado/winter-park

You can type this in or click on north america and click on the video link in the KML. You do not have to find winterpark as all of the links to my articles are redirected back to my homepage.

It's because of MJ saves current mobile mode in cookies and tries to use it in any further requests. So, clrst cookies before test redirects in your case.
