TOPIC: URL Redirect Issue

URL Redirect Issue 13 years ago #6287

I have a bit of a unique issue I'm hoping someone can help with...
I have a a Google Map component running on my site which necessitates the use of a Google Maps API key. This key is only valid for one domain name and it doesn't appear as though I can have more than one key to cover multiple domain names. The problem of course is that I have one domain name for the PC site and another (much shorter) domain name for the mobile site. This means that the map won't load on the mobile site.
In order to try and get around this, I thought I would try and have a very localised URL redirect, so when a user goes to the page with the map on it, the browser is redirected to the url that the API key is valid for. I found a plug in that would do this, however the Mobile Joomla back end redirects in place are overiding it and sending the browser back to the mobile URL.
The question is, what's the best way of solving this issue? The simplest way I guess would be to turn off URL redirect all together and set a forwarder in the settings of my domain register so that anyone that goes to the URL of the mobile site is redirected to the PC site URL (which is then sent to the mobile template) but that seems messy. Ideally, it would be better if I could keep the user on the one domain name but that doesn't appear to be possible.
How do I send a mobile browser to the PC domain while ensuring they can see the mobile template?
I tried attaching a screenshot of the backend settings but nothing seems to happen when I click on the Add File button. I've deleted the redirect to the mobile URL (songlist.com.au) but for some reason the redirect is still in place.

For most applications we recommend that you simply register your domain name. Your key will be valid for that domain, its subdomains, all URLs on hosts in those domains, and all ports on those hosts.

So, the best way is to either use of subdomains, or have different keys for different domains.
