TOPIC: Mobile Joomla for non-Joomla site

Mobile Joomla for non-Joomla site 12 years, 8 months ago #8036

I'm not sure where to place this question.

What I am wondering... If i have a client that has a non-Joomla website, and they want a mobile website...

With Mobile Joomla, can I:

1) Install Joomla on a sub-domain of the clients server, like: m.xyzcompany.com - set up basic headers and information based on their main site, then create the mobile version?

2) If so, can i make the Joomla site on the sub-domain "only" accessible on a smartphone? (Meaning, anyone trying to access the sub-domain on a computer browser would see a mobile version of the website)

3) Or what is the best way to handle this?

Any ideas or thoughts on this would be great! Thanks!!

Yes, it's possible, though it's not the best case because of you should manually sync mobile version with main site.
