Placing <meta content="yes" name="apple-mobileweb-app-capable" /> into the index.php template file for iPhone template allows users to bookmark the page to their Home screen on the iPhone and when opened from there it will hide all the Safari tool bars. The problem is that when I click on [s]the menu[/s] any link when accessing this page from the mobile app icon it ends up opening the link in Safari, instead of inside the Mobile app.

Joomla 1.5.21
Mobile Joomla 0.9.8.1

This does not appear to be address in the FAQ and the only search result I could find for this Meta tag has gone un-answered since March of 2010

I guess the issue is not related to Mobile Joomla!, but how Mobile Safari treats web apps.

Have you put link targets to the manifest file?

Except we both know this is not true... and if you truly do not know this then try http://demo.iwebkit.net from your iOS device, and add it to your home screen and then see what happens when you click links... And just a heads up of what to expect, they open up inside the same web app window.

While I know what link targets are, and how they are set on a link by link basis, I do not have any information about a "manifest file;" however, I have verified that the affected menu links on my site are all configured to open in the "parent window."

Ok, so further proof that this is not a Mobile Safari problem is that I have fixed this issue... How did I fix it you may ask? I am working on integrating iWebKit into the iPhone template. In the process of doing this and testing I have found that all the links on the mobile webapp are working correctly. So there is something, possibly in the Meta tags, that is causing problems with using this plugin with the Mobile App configuration. I'm not sure which one fixed it yet, as I made several modifications at once, but I basically only modify the <header></header> information and the Toolbar section, and now all of my links work correctly.

You can see for yourself at the same link as before: http://www.oakhillbaptist.com
