TOPIC: Trouble installing

Using the latest version of Joomla. 
I go to the extension manager and upload the mobile-joomla .tar.gz archive and get the following error:

Error
Unable to read archive
Warning
JFolder: :files: Path is not a folder. Path: /home/naml/public_html/tmp/install_51f706a4c2fcd

Just tested on J!3.1.4,
"Mobile Joomla 1.2.6.2 is successfully installed!"

Check that your archive is not corrupted.
Filename: Mobile-Joomla.1.2.6.2.tar.gz
Filesize: 657340

That's all fine, the file isn't corrupted

Extracting the files manually into /components/com_mobilejoomla and then turning FTP off and then uploading the extension for install worked. For some reason, it had to be all three of these.

So, this is still an issue even though I've "fixed" it. As such, any light shed on this would be awesome

Is your /home/naml/public_html/tmp directory writeable?

Yep, everything has the correct permissions. Maybe it is an open_basedir issue
