I've put Mobile Joomla! on more than one website with no problem.

Then I hit this one. They are using "Multi-Site". Is this a problem? They are also using SEO links with the modified .htaccess. Is *this* a problem?

I notice a lot of "Zero Replies" here. This forum is a bit of a joke, no?

I too have installed the mobile component on a few of my sites with no problem. Starting about two weeks ago I attempted to install it on a new site and it fails. I have attempted it on multiple sites but no go. Very strange behavior. I will repost if I discover a solution. Hope you do the same.

Did a fresh extraction of the tar file. Created a zip of the extracted files. Attempted to install the zip file. Same failing result.
Uploaded the zip file to the /tmp folder and extracted it there. selected the install from the /tmp folder and Success!!
Let me know if this works for you as well.

I finally had some time to try this. I couldn't get it to work the way you did. What I did do was unzip and rezip and upload it, and then it sorta installed. But I still got loads of errors (I'll post them below). Have you had any luck with Mobile Joomla since?

Installed it twice as I described and had no errors. I do not know enough to make guesses about why it act oddly. I am just happy that it is working for me.

fresh extraction is the way i did...it worked

I've the same issue... I 've extraxted the tar file. I zipped the folder... upload it in the tmp folder...
But how can i unzip the file directly in the folder?

I use Filezilla for ftp client, but i dont'know how i can unzip a file directly on the server...

I've tried to unzip on myy desktop and upload all in the tmp file, but same errors...
An idea please?

I have cpanel at my web provider and it has the ability to extract the zipped file. 

If I understand you say that you uploaded the unzipped files to the "tmp" folder and then attempted to install which failed. Did it fail to upload or fail to install from there?

I am struggling since many months now to install the programme. I always had a lot of error messages. Now I did it in a new way. I extracted all files into a folder and then uploaded the folder to the TMP directory via Dreamweaver. Still I get error messages like this one:

Anyone can suggest a way to install the thing? Maybe someone can send me a working ZIP NOT TAR.GZ file. This may perhaps work. Maybe the file on the Mobile Joomla Download server is corrupt???

I have attached my downloaded file. Maybe there is something missing?
